In this workshop, somatic coach, Mary Kethya Khuon, will lead you through a series of writing exercises to release your rage and anger safely in your body so you can feel relief. Building self-compassion is possible when you learn to connect with your emotions and guide it to release. Through a combination of expressive writing, somatic therapy, and creativity, you can build a relationship with your voice and alter the trajectory of your life.

5 learning objectives:
What is anger/rage and how does it affect our bodies
Using IPH system to release anger/rage from the body
Creating our Higher Self Persona to generate safety as we process our rage/anger
Utilizing Somatic experiencing to recognize and track the sensation of anger releasing from our bodies
Allowing self-compassion to emerge as we connect with our highest selves and give them a voice

Writing exercises:
Create our highest self persona: what are their beliefs, what are they not afraid of, what do they want
IPH exercise of our higher self speaking in the present moment about a past adversity
Self-compassion exercise using our highest self to speak to our inner child

Mary Kethya Khuon is a certified somatic coach who empowers people to cultivate emotional resiliency to become the leaders of their dreams. She founded her digital wellness brand, Sincerely Miss Mary, in 2020 after 9 years working as a luxury handbag designer in NYC. She is the creator of the Write & Release framework, where she helps people regulate their emotions and nervous system through writing, an accessible tool to provide mental health equity for marginalized groups. Mary is an international speaker and facilitates her workshops for public schools, universities, trauma healing institutions, and prison reform organizations. When Mary isn’t creating social impact in the world, she performs stand-up comedy, writes for TV shows, and produces live comedy shows in Chicago.
